P.V.C. Insulated Wires:
A Flexible cable is used to carry electricity from a power point to an appliance. Most appliances are portable so the cable supplying them, should twist or bend, needs to become straight again with the minimum effort.

Domestic wires are made up of Conductor and Insulation. The conductor of the wire manufactured by copper of high conductivity. As a result the current losses are less leading to low incidence of accidents occurring due to overheating of wire. The insulating material is of high quality PVC having high thermal stability and tensile strength, thereby increasing the life of wires.

Flexible leads are made from several strands of wire. Eample:14/0.3 is 14 strands of wire each 0.3 mm in diameter.
